Wright DNA Project Process

Upon receipt of your application a specimen collection kit will be sent to you. The kit provides a swab for you to use in collecting a small amount of cells containing DNA from the inside of your cheek. Once you have collected the cells the kit should be returned immediately to the lab for testing.

A privacy control number will be assigned to each participant so we can share results on our web site. Approximate testing time is 6 - 8 weeks.

FamilyTree DNA will send individual certificates and reports to each participant and a database of results will be maintained by FamilyTree DNA for automatic comparison with future Wright test subjects. Our goal is to establish a growing database of Wright DNA supported lineages to aid in genealogical research for years to come.

If you know of other Wright researchers who would be interested in joining this project, please ask them to contact us for information. Remember, the larger the Wright database, the more likely we will be able to identify specific family groups.
